Start Working

In 2023 we established ourselves as a Social Promotion Association (APS) to carry forward the Start-working project and related initiatives, such as the first Festival dedicated to digital professions, held in May 2024, which brought together over 250 young people from Lunigiana aged 18-30 who connected with significant business and entrepreneurial realities (Cisco, Caffeina, Scuola Zoo, Start2Impact, Futurely, just to name a few).

Our project is among the first in Italy to focus on attracting remote workers to an inland Apennine area, not by having a physical space, but rather by emphasizing the concept of community and the positive impact that people themselves (temporary residents – whether digital nomads or remote workers) can bring to a territory, contributing time, energy, skills and thus promoting a new model of territorial development that is alternative and complementary to the tourism sector.

We constantly engage with the Municipality of Pontremoli and neighboring municipalities to ensure the project becomes an increasingly integral part of our territory’s development vision; GAL Lunigiana, to promote our vision and ensure resources can be directed toward these purposes; Italian Digital Nomads Association which has recognized us as an advanced reality in terms of the impact of attracting remote workers; industry realities and experts (Appennino l’Hub, SocialFare and Scuola di Montagna, Giovanni Teneggi – Director of Confcooperative Reggio Emilia and expert in Community Cooperatives) with whom we have undertaken training paths and mutual exchange of opportunities and knowledge.

We are happy to connect with similar realities or those interested in our idea of developing an inland area.
